The Eaton ELocker is an electronically actuated locking differential that allows the driver to switch from a fully open differential to a 100% locked unit at the flip of a switch. The result is smooth performance and cornering while deactivated, and the performance of a spool when activated. Both axles will be forced to rotate at the same speed, regardless of traction. Even with one tire off the ground, the tire with traction will continue to keep your vehicle moving. ELockers are ideal for daily driven trucks and 4×4’s as well as extreme competition vehicles.

How the EATON ELocker works:
When the ELocker is activated (switched on) the electromagnetic stator actuates the ball-ramp system to engage the locking ring with the side gear via the push rods. This effectively prevents any rotation of the side and spider gears, forcing both axles to turn at the same speed. Deactivation (turning the switch off) reverses the process and lets the wave spring disengage the locking ring from the side gear.

The Eaton ELocker is an electronic, selectable differential designed for drivers that need traction on-demand.
While driving under normal conditions, the ELocker® performs as an open differential. If an obstacle is encountered – a rocky trail, muddy ditch or other challenge – the driver turns on a dash switch to activate the unit. The electromagnetic mechanism then locks, forcing both wheels to turn at the same time regardless of traction. A second flip of the switch deactivates the unit to resume normal driving.
ELocker® internal gears are net-forged, providing the strength and durability necessary for off-road and recreational driving. Its electronic control also provides added reliability over similar air-controlled products.
